OPP is a for-profit social venture formed to create compelling and sustainable art and media projects that participate in the cooperative development of 21st Century culture. A portion of all profits go back to the communities in which we explore.

What we do
New technologies and capabilities are blurring the often-artificial distinctions between media forms. We are trying to find a groove somewhere between them all.

  • Solo Journalism - OPP is developing a new style of documentary art created by a solo creator. Our groundbreaking project Falling Together in New Orleans is our first experiment with this new journalistic genre.

Event Production

  • OPP produces multimedia art events and tours, incorporating music, art, video and other immersive media. Highlight events include:
    • Our 2007 Hurricane Katrina Campus Media Project which we took on the road with AniDiFranco for 12 North American dates.
    • Mulitple multi-media art events and movie premiere parties including Pieces of Sanity, Curious Tales, Rebirth, Falling Together in New Orleans - Two Years After Katrina event, Charleston International Film Festiva - Pura Vida No Pro After Party.

Who are we?
The company was founded in 2005 by Farrah Hoffmire and her husband, Mitchell Davis.

Farrah is an artist, independent filmmaker, and aspiring farmer & goat cheese maker living in Charleston, SC. She has produced several short films & feature documentaries, published a book of poetry, and is one of her city's leading multimedia art-event producers and visual artists. After graduating from The College of Charleston with a degree in psychology, she survived two years at a state mental hospital (as a therapist, not a patient, thankfully) before earning her certification as a yoga teacher. She is the filmmaker, editor, director, and writer behind Falling Together in New Orleans and has produced all of OPP's cause-marketing documentaries. She is also an aspiring Goat Farmer who is apprenticing at Burden Creek Farms in Johns Island as a cheesemaker.

Mitchell has worked in media professionally since 1994, but also served stints as a business journalist, musician, and small-business owner. He started Lowcountry Media Group, an early Charleston-based Internet design and marketing firm in 1996. Four years later he was a founder of BookSurge, a global print-on-demand software, services and manufacturing company that was sold to Amazon.com in April 2005. He recently started a new venture with several of his comrades from BookSurge called BiblioLife, which is a technology platform for the preservation and dissemination of out of print books from all over the world. He finds inspiration in well-made documentaries, travel and Widespread Panic.
